Inova Energy Group is a Chicago-based, woman-led consulting firm focused on the future of energy and sustainability. Our work centers on energy efficiency programs, decarbonization, renewable energy, sustainability, climate planning, and community resilience.

Since 2014, Inova Energy Group has served clients in public and private sectors with a variety of projects ranging from utility energy program design to stakeholder management, deployment of new technologies, statewide policy analysis, creation of climate action and mitigation plans, trainings, and the development of corporate sustainability strategies.

Our Team

CATALINA LAMADRID

Catalina is the founder and principal of Inova Energy Group. She has over 15 years of consulting experience in the sustainability and clean energy sectors. Her expertise focuses on strategic planning, public policy, stakeholder engagement, and program management. Past project work includes development comprehensive energy strategies for U.S. states, design and implementation of energy efficiency programs, engagement of underserved communities, and development of climate action and mitigation plans for cities.

LEAH HINIKER

As a Senior Consultant at Inova, Leah Hiniker specializes in local government sustainability, decarbonization, and electrification. With over 23 years of experience, she has excelled in strategic planning and project management for energy conservation, including Energy and Climate Action Plans, utility and regional funding opportunities, and energy benchmarking programs, and sustainable building design and operation.

STEPHEN MAKSIMOVICH

With expertise in data analytics and market research, Stephen is an Energy and Sustainability Consultant supporting Inova’s projects with data-driven approaches. He is skilled at data analysis, database queries, reporting, key performance indicators identification and analysis, and is well-versed in Agile methodologies for project development.  

JANE ANDERSON

Jane is an urban planner with five years of multi-family affordable housing development and community and stakeholder engagement experience. She supports Inova’s projects by providing project management, crafting and implementing community outreach strategies, building partnerships, and participating in the design of clean energy residential single-family and multi-family programs.

MELANIE MOORE

Ms. Moore’s background is in climate and energy, focusing on sustainability, equity, and community engagement. She has five years of project management experience and is currently the Director of Partnerships for Inova. In addition to her project management work, Ms. Moore leads business development and supports Inova with stakeholder engagement, business development, and program design. Her subject matter expertise includes projects ranging from policy analysis, research, strategic planning, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), building decarbonization, electric vehicles, and climate resilience.

JORGE MEDINA ZAMBRANO

Jorge’s passion for sustainable buildings and clean energy translates to his work as a sustainability consultant. He is a proficient project manager with expertise in developing sustainability roadmaps and leading waste management, change management, and stakeholder engagement efforts across diverse global communities.

ZOE KNAUS

Zoe comes to Inova with extensive experience in fostering renewable energy project development across the Midwest as well as facilitating community and stakeholder engagement on land use planning strategies in New York City. As a Clean Energy Intern at Inova, she provides support in project development and implementation, policy analysis, and community outreach for state-wide energy efficiency efforts.
